Camping
In the fall of 2003, U Bar U Retreat & Conference Center affiliated with the Council of UU Camps and Conferences (CU2C2). U Bar U is the first landed camping facility to join the conference in quite some time.
At present, we do not have a program of organized camping. However, our location in the Hill Country makes camping almost a year-round activity. U Bar U can support family vacations, overnight groups, outdoor celebrations, and small indoor gatherings.
This facility is ideal for fair weather, primitive campers. Indoor showers, restrooms, and cooking are available in the meetinghouse. Additional showers and restrooms are available in the existing cabins.
Planned facilities include:
- Prepared tent pads
- Freestanding bathhouses
- Screened-in lean-to facilities
- Camp-style cabins
A confidence course is also planned along the lines of the Ropes Course. This will make team-building camping outings at U Bar U an ideal adjunct to retreats for youth groups and adult groups alike.
