Writers’ Retreat
September 19-21, 2025
Our writer's weekend in January has been wonderful and we've gotten requests to offer another during a different time of year and so we have planned a late summer event while the pool is still open.
This is a weekend with no "expert" telling you how or what to write, just time in the peaceful hill country to write undisturbed with optional writing activities and opportunities to share your work with other writers, receiving feedback if desired. You may also enjoy and be inspired by hearing the work of others.
Come with your drafts, finished products and empty pages. All genres welcome, from fiction to memoir, from poetry to sermon.
Lodging, meals and programming is included. Lodging options include a private room or bunk in the Brown center or you can bring a tent or small RV for camping. Please indicate dietary preference on the registration. You can bring snacks and drinks as well. We have a refrigerator and microwave for your use, as needed.
Additional information about the schedule and what to bring will be emailed prior to the event.
The weekend is organized by David Feagins from San Antonio. The event starts Friday at 4pm or later with the first activity being dinner, and it concludes after a closing activity on Sunday morning. Early bird cost is $170 for bunk lodging in the Suites and 5 meals from dinner Friday night to breakfast on Sunday. The price increases on 9/1 and registration closes on 9/14. Register via Active using the button below.
All are welcome! Email director@ubaru.org with questions or any problems with registration.
